Eckerd Review

Our editorial board and staff will consider poems, fiction, creative nonfiction, hybrid, critical essays, and visual art from the Eckerd community from August 1st to December 15th.

While these genres are our most published, we are open to other and combined forms of artistic expression. Eckerd residential students, PEL Alums, members of ASPEC and OLLI, faculty, staff, and trustees are all invited to submit work for consideration.

Responses can be expected during the months of March and April.

Submissions are judged anonymously, so please remove your name from all uploaded documents.

To get a sense of our editorial preferences, see our site to view past issues.

Please submit up to five visual arts pieces. We enjoy all mediums, including paintings, photography, collages, drawings, etc. If you are submitting more than one piece, please specify titles in the cover letter. Within your cover letter, please include the medium of your submission (i.e. acrylic on canvas, digital photograph, mixed media, etc.)

Please note: All submitting writers must be connected to the Eckerd College community in some way.

Please submit one or more critical essays. We accept essays that are critiques on visual art, literature, film, or any other art medium. These essays should ask us to look at a certain piece of art, literature, or film through any lens you desire (gender, queer, religion, etc.). All submissions must include a works cited page. Because the journal is printed as well as online, please be mindful that length is a consideration. Fifteen double-spaced pages is the maximum length considered.
